Levee Inspections

Levee inspections are an important process in levee management and maintenance activities.

Levee Inspections:

  • identify deficiencies
  • allow the Corps to continually assess the levee integrity and collect information
  • provide project sponsor and public information regarding the levee condition
  • guide project sponsor’s short and long term maintenance items
  • determine eligibly in PL 84-99 Rehabilitation and Inspection Program

ACLD’s levees are inspected annually by USACE-Omaha District and every five years by an independent professional engineer.  The most current copy of these inspections is kept at ACLD’s office and is available for review and discussion by the public and local stakeholders.
